Lorenzo Bruzzone was invited to give two keynote talks as distinguished speaker of IEEE Geoscoience and Remote Sensing Society in Bangalore and Ahmedabd (India).

The keynote in Bangalore was given at Indian Statistical Institute – Bangalore Centre, Bangalore, India and was organized by the Bangalore Section IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society Chapter in association with the Systems Science and Informatics Unit, Indian Statistical Institute-Bangalore. One hundred people attended the talk (due to logistic constraints the number of pre-registered participants was restricted to 100).

The keynote talk in Ahmedabad was jointly organized by the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing (Gujarat Chapter), the IEEE Microwave Theory and Technique Society (Gujarat Chapter), the IEEE Antenna and Propagation Society (Gujarat Chapter), the Indian Society of Geomatics (Ahmedabad Chapter) and CEPT University. On this occasion, Dr Lorenzo Bruzzone released the first issue of IEEE GRSS – Gujarat newsletter and launched the new website. There were more than seventy participants representing various educational and research institutes like CEPT University, Space Applications centre (ISRO), Physical Research Laboratory, Gujarat University, Nirma University, CU Shah College, Ahmedabad University etc
