Lorenzo Bruzzone gave an invited keynote presentation at at the plenary session of the 19th International Conference on Parallel Problem Solving from Nature (PPSN 2026).

The title of the keynote was  “Artificial Intelligence and Evolutionary Computation in Space.” This was a  great opportunity to bring together space and natural computing — two communities with much to offer each other. Evolutionary computation and AI are playing an increasingly important role across the space domain, from Earth observation and planetary exploration to the design and operation of space missions. At the same time, the unique challenges of space can inspire new ideas and research directions in AI and evolutionary computation.
