Raktim Ghosh received the 2025 “Frank Marzano” award for the Best Italian PhD Theses on Geoscience and Remote Sensing by the Italian Chapter of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society.

The award was presented to the best four PhD Theses defended in the period June 2024 – May 2025. The title of the PhD Thesis is “Novel Architectures for Radar Sounder Signals segmentation: From Convolutional Neural Networks to Quantum-Enhanced Networks” (Advisors: F. Bovolo, L. Bruzzone).
The award ceremony was held in L’Aquila (Italy) on Sunday April 26, on the occasion of the 18th Specialist Meeting on Microwave Radiometry & Remote Sensing of the Environment (MicroRad 2026 – www.microrad2026.it).
