An RSLab study published in \ud835\ude15\ud835\ude22\ud835\ude35\ud835\ude36\ud835\ude33\ud835\ude26 \ud835\ude0a\ud835\ude30\ud835\ude2e\ud835\ude2e\ud835\ude36\ud835\ude2f\ud835\ude2a\ud835\ude24\ud835\ude22\ud835\ude35\ud835\ude2a\ud835\ude30\ud835\ude2f\ud835\ude34<\/a> demonstrates\u2014 for the first time \u2014 the presence of a massive cave at the bottom o<\/span><\/span>f a Venusian skylight in the Nyx Mons region.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This discovery was made possible by reprocessing synthetic aperture radar data acquired in the 1990s by the Magellan instrument onboard NASA\u2019s Magellan spacecraft.<\/p>\n

This work marks the first step in an exciting journey toward exploring the subsurface of Venus \u2014 a frontier that will be further investigated by ESA\u2019s EnVision\u00a0mission and NASA’s VERITAS missions.<\/p>\n
